“Nihao! China” – 2025 World Cultural Heritage Tourism Overseas Promotion Season

To showcase the cultural characteristics, social customs, and unique tourism resources of regions featuring World Cultural Heritage sites in China, and further enhance international communication through cultural exchange and tourism promotion, the Network of International Culturalink Entities, with the special support of the International Cooperation Department of China’s National Radio and Television Administration and the International Tourism Alliance of Silk Road Cities, will host the “Nihao! China” – 2025 World Cultural Heritage Tourism Overseas Promotion Season from May to November 2025, in collaboration with the cultural and tourism departments (bureaus) of 10 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities including Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Jiangsu, Shandong, Henan, Guizhou, Gansu, Ningxia, and Xinjiang, as well as the cultural and tourism authorities of 7 cities including Wuxi, Luoyang, Lhasa, Yan’an, Quanzhou, Xinzhou, and Turpan, along with overseas cultural and tourism institutions.

During the promotion season, there will be a launching ceremony, along with a series of other activities, including the Global Screening of Themed Videos, Themed Photo Exhibition, Local Cultural and Tourism Resource Showcases, and “Nihao! China” Overseas Promotion Sessions.

Every world cultural heritage is a letter written by humans to the future. They are ancient symbols on the wall of stones or exquisite patterns in the palace, bearing the wisdom and glory of different civilizations. At present, China has 40 world cultural heritage sites, building a communication bridge between China and the world. These priceless cultural heritages are not only the foundation of the spiritual home of the Chinese nation, but also the common cultural wealth of all human beings, writing a magnificent chapter of diversity of human civilization.

Here, we will lead you to have a dialogue across time and space, have close contact with world cultural heritage in China, and deeply experience the unique local cultural characteristics and human landscape and abundant tourism resources. The Tale of Pomegrante

The film focuses on the internal connections and spiritual commonalities between two important cities on the Silk Road – Xi’an, China and Isfahan, Iran.

Taking a Chinese girl named ‘Anar’(pomegranate) as a clue,through the perspective of an Iranian history professor, a spiritual dialogue is conducted between Persian civilization and Eastern civilization in today’s context.

Liangzhu: Mutual Learning and Appreciation

“Boundless distance, countless people, are all connected to me.” —— Lu Xun

First discovered in 1936 in the lower reaches of China’s longest river, the Yangtze, the Liangzhu ruins gained world heritage status in 2019. Liangzhu culture, a testament to the over 5,000-year history of Chinese civilization, boasts exquisite jade artifacts and unique architectural styles, reflecting the advanced craftsmanship and rich heritage of ancient China.

300 experts from more than 60 countries and regions gathered at the second Liangzhu Forum commenced in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, and immersed themselves in the grandeur and historical depth of Liangzhu culture.

A Dialogue Across Ancient Civilizations: Liangzhu & Greece

The Archaeological Ruins of Liangzhu City stands as a sacred testament to the rich history of Chinese civilization, spanning an impressive five millennia.

Meanwhile, the ancient Greek civilization, flourishing along the shores of the Aegean Sea, is celebrated as the cradle of Western culture. As the saying goes, shared aspirations overcome distances. Over 2,000 years ago, China and ancient Greece were connected through the ancient Silk Road.

Today, civilizations thrive through exchanges and are enriched through mutual learning. Two Greek international students studying in Zhejiang University will walk you through the bridge between Greece & Liangzhu.

A documentary on the recently-concluded Portugal and Greece stops of the ‘Belt and Road Initiative’ ‘Liangzhu: A Dialogue across World Civilizations’ cultural exchanges is about to be aired.

The documentary, filled with exciting moments at the ‘Diglogue Across Ancient Civilizations’ Events in Thessaloniki, Greece and Lisbon, Portugal, could serve as a preview to the upcoming second Liangzhu Forum, building up the anticipation for an even more splendid future of human civilization.
