Hainan is a beautiful tropical island in southern China, right at 18 degrees north. This line, known as the “resort paradise line,” crosses the middle of the island.
Here, the climate is great, the ecology is well protected, the scenery is beautiful, and the culture is diverse.

Hainan has spring-like weather all year round. The average temperature is around 25 degrees.
In winter, it’s usually between 18 and 22 degrees. In summer, especially in the central tropical rainforest region, it’s around 25 to 28 degrees.

Hainan is the province with the best ecological environment in China. It has a forest coverage rate of 62.1% and over 3,500 types of plants and 600 rare animal species.
The proportion of days with good air quality throughout the year reaches 99.4%. In the mountains, negative oxygen ions reach high levels, over 10,000 per cubic centimeter.
Hainan’s water quality is among the best in the country, with a marine water excellence rate of over 99%. All fresh drinking water in Hainan meets China’s top standards, surpassing World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines.
Hainan has charming natural scenery, including a vast ocean area of around 2 million square kilometers.
The main island of Hainan covers 33,900 square kilometers and has a coastline of about 1,950 kilometers, 10 stunning bays, 7 offshore islands and nearly 4,300 square kilometers of tropical rainforest.

Hainan has a profound history and colorful and vibrant cultures. People have lived and farmed in Hainan for over 10,000 years.
The Li ethnic group, who moved here from the mainland, have lived here for more than 3,000 years. They developed one of the world’s most vibrant textile traditions, the Li brocade, which UNESCO recognizes as a world intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
From 220 BC to now, Confucianism, Taoism, Buddhism, and other cultures have taken root in Hainan. This gave rise to rich history, revolutionary stories, maritime traditions, and folk customs.
Hainan is a famous tourist and vacation destination in the Asia-Pacific Region.
After more than 40 years of tourism development, Hainan has become a world-class island resort destination in both China and the Asia-Pacific region.
Hainan has mature tourism facilities. There are 86 A-rated tourist attractions (including seven at the 5A-level and 43 at the 4A-level), 3 national-level tourism resorts, and various iconic vacation bays popular among Chinese and international travelers.

Hainan has developed ten signature tourism products, including ocean tourism, high-end shopping, medical wellness, aerospace-related tourism, performing arts, sports, museums, rural tourism, island road trips, and MICE tourism.
There are also several theme parks, such as the Hainan Ocean Paradise Resort in Lingshui and Ocean Flower Island in Danzhou, as well as the Hainan Tropical Rainforest National Park. These attractions and products attract nearly 100 million domestic visitors and over 1.1 million overseas tourists each year.
