On 11th August, Zhang Li, Director of the China National Tourist Office in London (CNTO London), met with Jonathan Keenan, Head of Aviation at Manchester Airports Group (MAG) and had an effective discussion.

During the talks, both parties introduced their respective organisational functions and operational mechanisms, engaging in constructive discussions on strengthening future collaboration to attract more British tourists to China.

Director Zhang Li highlighted, the nature of his office as a governmental institution and its role in promoting China-UK tourism exchanges and collaboration. Jonathan Keenan emphasised that the Chinese market is strategically vital for Manchester Airport, which currently operates direct flights to Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong. He noted that MAG’s objectives in facilitating British travel to China closely align with the Tourist Office’s mission. Both parties expressed eagerness to deepen co-operation in organising trail tours for travel trade professionals and hosting joint promotional campaigns.

Han Zhi, UK General Manager of Hainan Airlines, also attended the meeting.
